What are TSM rod ends?

TSM" rod ends are "male" type ends, i.e. they have a threaded shank. They are mainly used for universal applications. These rod ends may or may not be fitted with a grease nipple.

What are the different types of TSM rod ends?

There are two main types of TSM rod ends:

  • TSM rod ends have internal diameters ranging from 5 to 30 mm. The sliding surfaces are made of steel or bronze. These rod ends require lubrication; a grease nipple is provided.
  • TSM.C rod ends have internal diameters ranging from 5 to 50 mm. The sliding surfaces are made of steel and PTFE. The generic brand "C" suffix indicates that the rod ends are maintenance-free (no grease nipple), but note that the "C" suffix in the DUNLOP brand indicates that the pitch is refined.

TSM" type rod ends have right-hand threads. Left-hand threads are available under reference "TSML".

What's the difference between "TSM" and "SA" rod ends?

There are two main distinctions between "TSM" and "SA" rod ends:

  1. The composition of the sliding surfaces: for "TSM" type rod ends, they are made of steel/bronze or steel/PTFE, depending on the model. On the other hand, for "SA" type ferrules, they are made of steel/steel or steel-on-bronze synthesized with PTFE, depending on the model.
  2. Dimensions: TSM" ferrules are thicker than "SA" ferrules, but have a smaller external head diameter.
