What are T.S.F. rod ends?

T.S.F. rod ends are "female" type ends, i.e. they have a threaded hole. They are mainly used for universal applications. They may or may not be fitted with a grease nipple. They are available with both right-hand and left-hand threads.

What are the different types of T.S.F. rod ends?

There are two main types of T.S.F. rod ends:

  • TSF rod ends are available with internal diameters ranging from 5 to 30 mm, and feature steel and bronze sliding surfaces, requiring lubrication by means of a grease nipple.
  • TSF.C rod ends have internal diameters of up to 50 mm and feature steel and PTFE sliding surfaces. The addition of the suffix "C" as a generic mark indicates that they are maintenance-free. In other words, they have no grease nipples. However, in the case of the DUNLOP brand, the "C" suffix means that the pitch is finer. In this brand, this suffix has nothing to do with maintenance.

TSF" type rod ends have right-hand threads. Left-hand threads are available under "TSFL".

What's the difference between "TSF" and "SI" rod ends?

There are two main distinctions between "TSF" and "SI" rod ends:

  1. Composition of sliding surfaces: TSF" rod ends can feature sliding surfaces composed of steel/bronze or steel/PTFE, depending on the specific model. In contrast, "SI" ferrules feature sliding surfaces made of steel/steel or steel-on-bronze synthesized with PTFE, depending on the specific model.
  2. Dimensions : "TSF" ferrules are thicker than "SI" ferrules, but have a smaller outer head diameter.
