What is a GE rod end?

GE rods end are radial rods end with or without seals, grooved or not, designed for alternating high load and shock load operations.

What are the different types of GE rods end?

  • GE..E/ES rods end are grooved, non-sealed, steel-on-steel radial rods end. They require lubrication (hole on the outer ring) and can withstand temperatures from -60 to +200°C. Both inner and outer rings are hardened. This type of rods end is mainly used on hydraulic cylinders, construction machinery and road and naval transport vehicles.
  • GE..ES/2RS rods end have the same characteristics as "GE..E/ES" rods end, except that they are sealed. They can withstand temperatures ranging from -60 to +130°C.
  • GE..SB rods end feature a combination of steel-on-bronze sliding surfaces. They can withstand temperatures ranging from -60 to +250°C and require lubrication. They are commonly used on printing machines, packaging machines and transport and sorting machines.
  • GE..CP rods end are heavy-duty rods end with hard chrome/PTFE sliding surfaces. They can withstand temperatures from -50 to +130°C and require no lubrication. The inner ring is hardened, but the outer ring is not. They are particularly used in heavy machine construction, lifting equipment, cranes and overhead cranes.
  • GE..SP rods end are non-sealed rods end with steel/PTFE sliding surfaces. They can withstand temperatures ranging from -50 to +200°C and are maintenance-free. They are typically used on packaging machines, hoists and printing presses.
  • GE...C rods end are maintenance-free, non-sealed rods end. The sliding surfaces of these spherical plain bearings are made of hard chromium and PTFE, and they can withstand temperatures ranging from -50 to +200°C. The outer ring of this rod end, made of steel and PTFE textile fiber, slides on the hardened inner ring. Under normal operating conditions, this spherical plain bearing is suitable for hydraulic cylinder pistons and lifting equipment in general.
  • GE.. and 2RS are maintenance-free radial rods end with seals. They can withstand temperatures ranging from -50 to +130°C. The sliding surfaces are made of hard chromium and PTFE. Inner and outer rings are hardened. The outer ring features an axial slot for special mounting arrangements. Technical characteristics are the same as for "GE..C" types, but with improved performance.
